Called Warren, or Park Hospital, in March 1862, this facility became known as Frederick Prison Hospital in February 1863, as it treated Union prisoners from the various guard houses in the city. When Stone General closed, patients were sent to Stanton General Hospital.

According to an article in the Daily Morning Chronicle, the Stone Hospital was "especially devoted to sick and wounded deserters." When recovered, soldiers were sent back to their regiments.
